Wine and Cheese 2
First thing first before starting this blog, I absolutely have loved making Charcuterie boards. With friends it is such a fun night. But, my love for charcuterie boards actually came from John Boyer's restaurant and thought how fun it would be to make my own inspired one at home. With this assignment with my other fellow wine drinkers, my parents, I made our own Charcuterie board and then paired it with 3 cheeses and 3 wines.
My grocery store shopping experience: Shopping for the groceries for the Charcuterie board was super fun! I got to splurge and buy some extra things though on top of the cheeses and got to make a "John Boyer" kind of charcuterie board.
This is the final result of the Charcuterie board! I got the board from Home Goods and it was perfect because the board spins around which is perfect for sharing with friends and family.

My Review/ review with cheeses:
As I tried them with the three cheeses the wine tasted different each time in my opinion. First I tried the brie, I thought that the smooth texture made the wine more mellow but thought it mixed well together. Next, I tried the pepper jack cheese which had a bit of a kick with it, I didn't like those two together because the kick from the spice didn't sit right with the tropical taste of the wine. Lastly, I tried the cranberry cheese with it and that tasted super good. I really liked the fruity taste of the cheese with the fruity taste of the wine.

My Review/ review with cheeses:
As I tried the wine with the cheeses, it made the wine and cheese have a lot of different flavors and changed the taste of the wine. This wine is meant to be paired with cheeses so I was excited to try the cheeses with the wines. The first cheese I had was the brie, and compared to the other wines it had the same effect where the smooth texture of the brie mixed with the wine created a nice simple taste and make the aftertaste of the wine smooth itself while keeping the flavor more mellow. Next, I tried the pepper jack with it, again, it clashed a bit, even though this wine is meant to be paired with cheeses the flavors clashed. Lastly, I had the cranberry cheese and it tasted really good because the cranberry mixed with the orange and lime zest paired so well together.

My Review/ review with cheeses:
As I tried them with the three cheese it definitely changed the flavor of the cheeses and some though complemented the cheeses so well. First, I tried the brie and again what a classic cheese to have with this wine! The sweetness of the wine mixed the mellow smooth cheese made this a perfect pairing. Next, I tried the pepper jack and it was just too many flavors going on where my taste buds were overwhelmed. It was too many spices and sweetness and clashed again. Lastly, I had the cranberry cheese and again oh my gosh my favorite pairing out of all the cheeses. The cranberry flavor of the cheese and the peach flavor of the wine really paired nicely together.
Here are pictures of my cat enjoying wine and cheese night as well!
