Introduction
Hello! My name is Meredith Robbins and I'm from Ashburn, VA. I'm currently a student at Virginia Tech studying Digital Marketing Strategy and Dual Minoring in International Business and Leadership and Social Change. At Virginia Tech, I am a Marketing Intern at Virginia Tech Recreational Sports, in a sorority, and was a Hokie Ambassador. This is my blog where you can learn about my taste in wine and a little about me while taking Geography of Wine at Virginia Tech!
In my life I am all about the wine culture. Growing up my parents loved to go to different wineries and try new things and they always brought me along (even though I unfortunately couldn't try- it was still a fun experience on a Saturday to join). As I grew up living this life with them when I turned 21 I was extremely excited to incorporate winery outings and tastings into my life.
On August 21st my junior year, it was the big day of turning 21. That weekend I went to a winery and enjoyed the best glasses of wine as a legal adult. The reason I joined this class though, was because my taste in wine is lacking still. I want to go beyond my favorite wine of just liking Barefoot Moscato and expand my horizons. I do like trying new things when it comes to food and drinks so I am excited to get John Boyers knowledge of wines from different cultures and places all around the world and enjoy great times and memories with my friends while trying these varieties of wines.
Currently with wines, I am not a big fan of red's and like whites more. I feel like my taste in wine is like coffee. I first used to only like coffee with a lot of milk and sugar but as I grew and matured my taste of coffee grew more with it and now I like just plain black coffee. That is how I want my experience of tasting wines to be. I want to learn what wines there are to try and get more experienced and find the perfect red and white to have with my dinner and know how to properly taste wine!
I'm excited to embark on my journey to find my true love for wine!
